Strict propriety is weak

چکیده
Abstract Considerations of accuracy – the epistemic good having credences close to truth-values have led justification a host norms. These arguments rely on specific ways measuring accuracy. In particular, measure should be strictly proper. However, main argument for strict propriety supports only weak propriety. But follows from given truth directedness (which is non-negotiable) and additivity both very common plausible). So no further necessary.

STRICT-WEAK LANGUAGES. An analysis of strict implication∗
Modal languages were originally based on the possible-world approach proposed by Lewis, Carnap and others. In other words, modal languages were originally designed to talk about necessity (the box) and possibility (the diamond). Nowadays, modal languages (and certain natural extensions like dynamic languages, μ-calculus language, . . . ) are viewed as tools for analyzing the properties of Kripk...
متن کاملStrict fixed points of '{C}iri'{c}-generalized weak quasicontractive multi-valued mappings of integral type
Many authors such as Amini-Harandi, Rezapour et al., Kadelburg et al., have tried to find at least one fixed point for quasi-contractions when $alphain[frac{1}{2}, 1)$ but no clear answer exists right now and many of them either have failed or changed to a lighter version. In this paper, we introduce some new strict fixed point results in the set of multi-valued '{C}iri'{c}-gener...
متن کاملWeak Dutch Books versus Strict Consistency with Lower Previsions
Several consistency notions for lower previsions (coherence, convexity, others) require that the suprema of certain gambles, having the meaning of gains, are non-negative. The limit situation that a gain supremum is zero is termed Weak Dutch Book (WDB). In the literature, the special case of WDBs with precise probabilities has mostly been analysed, and strict coherence has been proposed as a ra...
متن کاملWhen strict singularity of operators coincides with weak compactness
We prove that the notions of finite strict singularity, strict singularity and weak compactness coincide for operators defined on various spaces: the disc algebra, subspaces of C(K) with reflexive annihilator and subspaces of the Morse-TransueOrlicz space Mq (Ω, μ) with q > 2.
متن کاملOn the non-equivalence of weak and strict preference
Rechenauer (2008) claims that weak preference is a better starting point for preference relations than strict preferences. This contention is challenged. Definitional connections between weak and strict preference are suggested that lead to the opposite conclusion. This is not taken as a justification of the superiority of strict over weak preference as the primitive preference relation, but ju...
